California Bobber Apparel

On a Sunday morning at the Rock Store off Mulholland Highway, before the marine layer burns off the Santa Monica Mountains, you'll find every kind of rider on the same gravel lot - old-school V-twins, stripped-down bobbers, a few originals who've been parking here since before it was famous. Thirty miles south, PCH cuts along the Big Sur cliff edge above Bixby Creek Bridge and it's still the most honest stretch of tarmac on the continent. California gave American biker culture its founding story in 1947, and it has never stopped earning that reputation. Original California biker shirts, printed on heavyweight ring-spun cotton, shipped to riders in over 70 countries.

The Bear Flag, the PCH Cliff Edge, and the Story That Started It All

Ride the coast road once and it gets into you: PCH along the Big Sur cliff, the Bixby Creek Bridge arch over the Pacific, the tight curves of Mulholland above the LA basin and the Rock Store lot at the top of them. That's the scene we built these around. The mark you wear is the California Grizzly, the walking bear from the 1846 Bear Flag, side-profile the way it reads on the state flag - compact, powerful, gone from the wild and pure symbol now. Every July 4th weekend there's a run to Hollister, the town where the 1947 gathering put American biker culture on the map, and we nod to that without dressing it up. The banner reads 'Golden State', worn since the Gold Rush and still earning it.

Materials & Who It's For

This one is built for three people: the California-born rider buying state-pride kit, the out-of-state rider who just finished the PCH run from LA to San Francisco, and the partner shopping for the friend who has talked about Big Sur every riding season for five years. Tees are heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk. Hoodies are 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at the stress points. Caps use raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
