Germany Bobber Apparel

Every September since 2005, the paddock at the old Solitude racetrack outside Stuttgart fills with cafe racers, custom boxers, and rockabilly crowds watching 1/8-mile sprints cut through a forest clearing. It is called the Solitude sprint festival locally - Glemseck 101 to those who make the pilgrimage - and it is the reason the German custom scene punches above its weight in Europe. Beyond Stuttgart, the Schwarzwald hands riders some of the best dense-canopy roads on the continent, and Munich has been building horizontally-opposed twin-cylinder engines since 1923. Original Germany biker shirts, printed on heavyweight ring-spun cotton, shipped to riders in over 70 countries.

The Golden Eagle, the Sprint Strip, and the Geist der 101

Picture the Germany a rider actually crosses on the way to the September sprints: Schwarzwald pines pressing in from both sides, Rhine-valley vineyard hills rolling back to the horizon, the Brandenburg Gate columns standing over Berlin. That is the world we drew around the mark you wear here, a broad golden eagle with wings spread on a rocky crag. It is a real bird of prey, the oldest shorthand there is for power and freedom, and it meant that to riders long before it sat on any government seal. We drew it bold and graphic so it holds up as a chest piece or a full back print, big enough to read across a paddock full of custom bikes.

Materials & Who It's For

This is the piece for the German rider buying for their crew, the European custom enthusiast who made the September sprint pilgrimage, and the German expat in the US, UK, or Australia who still calls it home. It works as a Solitude souvenir, a Black Forest touring memento, and a straight-up nationality flag for the classic motorcycle world. Tees are heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk. Hoodies are 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at every stress point. Caps use raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
