Aachen Bobber Apparel

Every few years, hundreds of bikes roll out of Neuenhofstrasse, past the old Kohl Motorrad workshop, and thread through Aachen's cobblestone centre until the Katschhof square opens up in front of the Dom. The cathedral is 1,200 years old. The riders park nose-in, engines cool in the shadow of the octagonal chapel, and a priest walks out to bless the lot of them - machines and all. That is the Biker-Wallfahrt, and it does not happen anywhere else on earth. This collection is built for the riders who make that run, and the ones who wish they could. Original Aachen biker shirts, printed on heavyweight ring-spun cotton, shipped to riders in over 70 countries.

The Aachener Adler and the Coronation City

Picture the pack rolling off Neuenhofstrasse and filling the Katschhof, engines ticking under the cathedral. That is the ride these pieces are drawn around. The mascot is the Aachener Adler, the single-headed black eagle off Aachen's coat of arms, and we drew it wings-spread and heraldic with the gilded Karlsbüste profile riding beside it. Around the eagle we set the scene the riders park in: the octagonal Dom rising behind a row of bikes, the Gothic sandstone face of the Rathaus anchoring the frame. The banner carries one word, Oecher, what Aachen locals call themselves in their own Ripuarian dialect. Wear it and you are flying the mark of the crew that makes the run.

Materials & Who It's For

This one is made for the Oecher who rides, the history-minded traveller doing an Eifel or Ardennes border tour with a stop at the Dom, and the German-heritage rider abroad who wants a piece that means something more than a skyline silhouette. It reads as hometown pride to a local and as a real piece of Carolingian identity to everyone else. Tees are heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk. Hoodies are 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at the stress points. Caps use raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
