In 1952 two riders loaded a 1939 Norton 500cc called La Poderosa - the Mighty One - and pointed it north out of Buenos Aires into the Andes. The road they cut through those high passes became the blueprint for every long-distance adventure rider who came after. Today the circuit still runs: Mendoza up through the mountain crossings, down through San Carlos de Bariloche where the Andes drop straight into Nahuel Huapi Lake, and south into the Patagonian steppe until the wind is the only sound. The Condor Above the Passes

Ride a bike up into the high Andean passes and the condor is already there, working the thermals where the air thins and the road narrows to a single lane. That is why it is the mark on this apparel. Wingspan over three metres, the biggest wings a rider will ever catch overhead, and nothing else flies at the altitude where this riding happens. We drew it in a flat soaring glide, wings fully spread, the white neck ruff clean against a simplified silhouette - big enough to run full-chest, tight enough to stamp on the breast. Around it we set the ground you actually cross out here: a winding Andean pass with snow-capped peaks on both flanks, a gaucho silhouette against the flat pampas horizon, and the glacier-backed Patagonian steppe running south to the end of the continent.

Materials & Who It's For

This one is built for three kinds of rider: the adventure biker who has already crossed the Andes and wants the piece that proves it; the Argentine who carries national pride the way riders carry patches; and the international traveller who rode through Patagonia and needs something more honest than an airport souvenir. Tees are heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk. Hoodies are 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at the stress points. Caps use raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
