Every November, the last race of the motorcycle Grand Prix season plays out at the circuit in Cheste, 25 km west of Valencia city, and the stands fill with riders who made the run down the Mediterranean coast to be there for it. The city that sends them home is the same one that built paella on the rice fields of L'Albufera, hung its medieval gates in 1392, and put a bat on everything from the manhole covers to the bus stops. That bat - the rat penat in Valencian - has been this city's mark since King Jaume I took it in 1238. Original Valencia biker shirts, printed on heavyweight ring-spun cotton, shipped to riders in over 70 countries.
Rat Penat: Valencia's Bat Since 1238
Ride the Mediterranean coast into Valencia in November and you are riding toward the last motorcycle Grand Prix of the season out at the Cheste circuit. This is the gear for that run. The mark riders wear is the rat penat, Valencia's heraldic bat, drawn wings-wide in a full-spread V the way the city has carried it since 1238. We kept the medieval silhouette, symmetrical and stripped to pure graphic weight so it reads as a clean breast print. Around it sits the city you rode through: the bone-white ribs of the City of Arts and Sciences along the old Turia riverbed, the Torres de Serrans over the northern gate, the flat gold light off L'Albufera. The banner closes on 'Rat Penat' - the civic mark this city has flown in plain sight for eight centuries.
Materials & Who It's For
This one is the right call for a rider who attended the Valencia motorcycle Grand Prix season finale, a Valencian buying something for their crew, or a European biker whose Mediterranean coast run ended here. It works as a hometown piece and as a real souvenir for anyone who came specifically for the racing or the roads. Tees are heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk. Hoodies are 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at every stress point. Caps use raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
