Golden Lion, Cobbled Alleys, and the Pass Road Out

The mascot is the rampant golden lion from the Zürich coat of arms - standing upright on its hind legs, left foreleg raised, the way it has represented this city since the medieval guilds carved it into stone. It has appeared on the city flag and civic buildings for centuries, and the form carries exactly the energy that belongs on a bike graphic: upright, forward, no apology. We built the scene around it: the twin Romanesque towers of the Grossmünster above the Limmat, the narrow cobbled lanes of the Niederdorf quarter threading between guild-house facades, and the Alpine horizon that reminds you every clear day what lies two hours south.
