Cardiff Bobber Apparel
Thirty miles north of the city the A470 climbs out of the valleys and opens onto the Brecon Beacons plateau, wide moorland bends and Pen y Fan filling the horizon. Cardiff riders know this road the way Berlin riders know Spinnerbrücke - it is where you go when the city gets tight. Back in town, the classic and custom bike community keeps its own calendar: informal meets in Roath and Canton, the wider Welsh show circuit running all year. Y Ddraig Goch, the red dragon that has flown over Welsh territory for centuries, ties every bit of it together. Original Cardiff biker shirts, printed on heavyweight ring-spun cotton, shipped to riders in over 70 countries.
Y Ddraig Goch: Five Centuries on the Road
Ask a Cardiff rider where they go and it is the A470 into the Beacons or the A466 down the Wye Valley - open moorland bends one way, ancient riverside forest the other. That is the road this artwork is built around. The mark at the centre is Y Ddraig Goch, the red dragon every Welsh rider knows on sight, drawn as a standalone creature: wings spread, four legs planted, lifted off the flag and standing on its own. We set the Cardiff Castle silhouette around it - the Norman keep and the Victorian clock tower that name the city from any angle - with the Brecon Beacons ridgeline behind, where the riding actually happens, and the Wye Valley forest lining the bottom. Close the banner with 'Iawn', short and straight, the way Cardiff talks.
Materials & Who It's For
This one is made for three kinds of rider: the Welsh local who wants hometown-pride gear done right, the touring motorcyclist who hit the Brecon Beacons on a UK run and wants something to show for it, and the Welsh diaspora rider abroad who still calls Cardiff home. All three get the same build: tees on heavyweight 5.3oz ring-spun cotton, side-seamed and pre-shrunk; hoodies in 8.0oz cotton-poly fleece with double-needle stitching at the stress points; caps with raised embroidery on a structured six-panel. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships and tracked to your door in over 70 countries.
