Skogskoning - the King of the Forest

Ride Norway long enough and the elg becomes part of the trip - the bull moose stepping out of the birch forest onto an empty road at dusk, forcing you off the throttle. That is the mark we put on this apparel. Norwegians call it skogskoning, king of the forest, and they voted it their animal on NRK national radio back in the 1960s: riders and farmers and fishermen picking the moose over everything else because it belongs to everyone. We drew it in heavy side profile, palmate antlers wide against a pale sky. Around it we set the roads that make the run - Trollstigen's switchbacks, the Atlantic Road arcing over open sea, the globe monument at the continent's edge.
